Antony passes high standard
Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser, Robert Fairnie
Hard work paid off for an Airdrie insurance manager as he attained a prestigious industry qualification.
Antony Murray graduated from the nationwide Allianz Insurance scholarship programme this year and also earned a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute (Dip CII) after completing the 18-month course.
The 34-year-old, who works at family firm E G Murray in the town's Victoria Place, was among a select band of just 30 applicants accepted on to the scholarship course – and was one of just 12 to graduate.
He and his fellow graduates celebrated with a ceremony at the Oxo Tower in London.

The course focused on insurance law, business and finance, liability and property insurance.
Antony told the Advertiser: "It's been a very big time commitment but I'm really pleased to have graduated now. There were four exams in total, along with numerous workshops, assessments and essays we had to complete.
"It's given me increased technical knowledge, which will help me look at things from a different perspective in my day-to-day work."
The Allianz scholarship is designed to raise the standard of technical ability within the insurance industry and Antony added: "There was a really high standard set.
"In order to qualify for the scholarship we completed something resembling a job application before an interview stage – and that's before the work even began.
"But it was something I had to go for. The fact the programme was co-funded by both Allianz and your own firm is a big thing."
He said of the graduation event in the capital: "It was really nice. The meal was great and we were treated to a cracking view across the Thames.
